Purposes for which bonds may be issued in districts other thanmetropolitan and urban.

164.121. 1. The school board of any district other than ametropolitan or urban district may borrow money and issue bondsfor the payment thereof for the following purposes:

(1) Purchasing schoolhouse sites and other land for schoolpurposes;

(2) Erecting schoolhouses or library buildings;

(3) Furnishing schoolhouses or library buildings;

(4) Building additions to or repairing old buildings;

(5) Purchasing school buses and other transportationequipment;

(6) Paying off and discharging assessments made by counties,cities, towns and villages or other political subdivisions orpublic corporations of the state against the district inconnection with the erection, construction and maintenance ofsewers and sewer systems, sidewalks, guttering, curbing andpaving of streets and alleys adjoining and abutting real estateof the district if the general funds of the district areinsufficient in the judgment of the board to pay and dischargethe assessment.

2. The question of any loan under this section shall bedecided at an election.
