Probationary period for employees--discharge during(metropolitan districts).

168.271. The first year of employment of all employeescovered by sections 168.251 to 168.291 shall be deemed a periodof probation. During the probationary period, any probationaryemployee whose work is found to be unsatisfactory shall befurnished a written statement by the administrative officer ofthe department in which he is employed, setting forth the natureof his unsatisfactory work or incompetency and a copy of thestatement shall be filed with the personnel director. Ifimprovement satisfactory to the administrative officer of thedepartment is not made within one month after the receipt of thestatement, the probationary employee shall be discharged.
