Certain retired teachers may be employed as specialadvisors--duties--salary.

169.580. Any person who served as a teacher in the publicschools of this state and who retired prior to July 1, 1957,under the provisions of chapter 169, shall upon application tothe state department of elementary and secondary education beemployed by the department as a special advisor and supervisor inconnection with state educational problems. Any person soemployed shall perform such duties as the commissioner ofeducation directs and shall receive a salary of seventy-fivedollars per month, payable in semimonthly or monthlyinstallments, as designated by the commissioner ofadministration, out of the general revenue of the state pursuantto appropriations for the purpose, except that the payment to theretired person for such services, together with the retirementbenefits he receives under chapter 169, shall not exceed onehundred fifty dollars per month. The employment provided for bythis section shall in no way affect any person's eligibility forretirement benefits under chapter 169.
