Engineering colleges, program of grants established--purposes--amountinsufficient for funding all grants reduced pro rata--expires,when.

172.287. 1. The University of Missouri shall annually request anappropriation under capital improvements, subject to availability of funds,for a program of grants established for the engineering colleges of theUniversity of Missouri for the purpose of assisting such colleges in thepurchase of teaching and research laboratory equipment exclusive oflaboratory or classroom furniture. The amount granted for each engineeringcollege may not exceed the lesser of an amount equal to one thousand twohundred dollars per each such bachelor's degree awarded in the previousfiscal year in all engineering programs currently accredited by theaccreditation board for engineering and technology, or the dollar value ofnew funds for equipment purchase which such colleges may obtain fromsources other than state appropriations for laboratory equipment.

2. For purposes of this section, the fair market value of in-kindcontributions of laboratory equipment to the colleges may be included asfunds for equipment purchase from sources other than state appropriations.In the event that new funds for laboratory equipment purchase obtained byany college of engineering from such nonstate sources exceed the amountnecessary to reach the maximum dollar limits herein specified, such excessamounts will be carried over to the following fiscal year and consideredthe same as that year's new equipment funds from nonstate sources.

3. In the event that the appropriations for this grant program areinsufficient to fund all grants approved for a given fiscal year, all suchgrants shall be reduced pro rata as necessary.

4. The provisions of this section shall terminate on June 30, 2017.
