Election, when held, how conducted--certification of votes cast.

178.840. 1. After organization, the voters of the community collegedistrict shall vote for trustees and on all other propositions provided by lawfor submission at school elections which are applicable to community collegedistricts. Regular elections in community college districts shall be held onmunicipal election days in the years in which trustees are to be elected orpropositions must be voted upon.

2. If trustees are elected other than at large throughout the entiredistrict, then only those voters within the subdistrict from which the trusteeor trustees are to be elected shall cast their ballots for the trustee ortrustees from that subdistrict. All candidates for the office of trusteeshall file their declarations of candidacy with the secretary of the board oftrustees.

3. A majority of the then qualified members of the board of trusteesshall declare and certify the candidates receiving the greatest number ofvotes for terms of six years each and until their successors are elected andqualified and shall declare and certify the results of the votes cast on anyquestion presented at the election.
