Dissolution of subdistricts--petition--election, ballot form.

184.355. 1. Any special purpose subdistrict formed underthe provisions of sections 184.350 to 184.384 after July 1, 1981,may be dissolved in the following manner: Upon the filing withthe governing body of the subdistrict of a petition containingthe signatures of qualified voters representing eight percent ofthe votes cast at the last preceding election for governor of anyconstitutional charter city not located within a county andqualified voters representing eight percent of the votes cast atthe last preceding election for governor of a constitutionalcharter county adjoining such city, the governing body shallsubmit the proposition to the voters in the subdistrict using thesame procedure and in the same manner so far as practicable as isprovided for the submission of the question for forming thesubdistrict. Separate petitions shall be filed for eachsubdistrict sought to be dissolved.

2. Such proposition or propositions shall be submitted tothe voters in substantially the following form at such election:

Shall the .......... Subdistrict of the MetropolitanZoological Park and Museum District comprising the City of.......... and the County of .......... be dissolved?

â ã YES â ã NO

3. In the event that a majority of the voters voting on suchproposition or propositions in such city and the majority ofvoters voting on such proposition or propositions in such countyat such election cast "YES" votes on any such proposition orpropositions, then the subdistrict shall be deemed dissolved. Theresults of the aforesaid election shall be certified by theelection officials of such city and county, respectively, to therespective chief executive officers of such city and county notless than thirty days after the day on which such election washeld. The cost of such election shall be borne by the city andcounty, respectively, as provided by law.

4. Dissolution of a subdistrict shall be carried out in themanner prescribed by section 67.955, RSMo.
