Furnishing unfit food to institution--penalty.

191.180. Every person who shall knowingly furnish or deliverany diseased, putrid or otherwise unwholesome meat, or the meatfrom any animal or fowl that was diseased or otherwise unfit forfood, to any institution under the control of the department ofsocial services, or who shall furnish or deliver any otherunwholesome food, vegetables or provisions whatsoever to any suchinstitution, to be used as food by the inmates or employeesthereof, and any employee of such institution who knowingly shallreceive, or consent to the receiving, of any such diseased orunwholesome meat, food or provisions at or by such institution,shall, upon conviction, be punished by a fine of not less thanfive dollars nor more than one hundred dollars, or byimprisonment in the county or city jail for not less than tendays nor more than six months, or by both such fine andimprisonment.
