Supplemental newborn screening requirements.

191.332. 1. By January 1, 2002, the department of health and seniorservices shall, subject to appropriations, expand the newborn screeningrequirements in section 191.331 to include potentially treatable ormanageable disorders, which may include but are not limited to cysticfibrosis, galactosemia, biotinidase deficiency, congenital adrenalhyperplasia, maple syrup urine disease (MSUD) and other amino aciddisorders, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency (G-6-PD), MCAD andother fatty acid oxidation disorders, methylmalonic acidemia, propionicacidemia, isovaleric acidemia and glutaric acidemia Type I.

2. The department of health and senior services may promulgate rulesto implement the provisions of this section. No rule or portion of a rulepromulgated pursuant to the authority of this section shall becomeeffective unless it has been promulgated pursuant to chapter 536, RSMo.
