Education programs for persons with no or inadequate health insurance.

191.839. The department of social services, in cooperation with thedepartment of health and senior services, shall design and implement anongoing public education program for those with no health insurance orinadequate health insurance. The purpose of the program shall be to identifyand inform eligible citizens of the existence, eligibility criteria, means ofaccess, and geographic location of existing federal and state health serviceprograms. The program may be designed to:

(1) Offer grants to not-for-profit service agencies to provide publiceducation activities;

(2) Disseminate brochures and other publications;

(3) Conduct informational seminars at appropriate geographic locationswith a disproportionate concentration of low-income persons.
