Director, appointment--compensation--qualifications.

192.007. 1. The director of the department of health and seniorservices shall be appointed by the governor by and with the advice and consentof the senate. The director shall serve at the pleasure of the governor andthe director's salary shall not exceed appropriations made for that purpose.

2. The director shall be a person of recognized character, integrity andexecutive ability, shall be a graduate of an institution of higher educationapproved by recognized accrediting agencies, and shall have had theadministrative experience necessary to enable him to successfully perform theduties of his office. He shall have experience in public health managementand agency operation and management.
