196.055. The department of health and senior services or its dulyauthorized agent shall have free access at all reasonable hours to anyfactory, warehouse, or establishment in which foods, drugs, devices, orcosmetics are manufactured, processed, packed, or held for introduction intocommerce, or to enter any vehicle being used to transport or hold such foods,drugs, devices, or cosmetics in commerce, for the purposes:
(1) Of inspecting such factory, warehouse, establishment, or vehicle todetermine if any of the provisions of sections 196.010 to 196.120 are beingviolated; and
(2) To secure samples or specimens of any food, drug, device, orcosmetic after paying or offering to pay for such sample. It shall be theduty of the department of health and senior services to make or cause to bemade examinations or analyses of samples secured under the provisions of thissection to determine whether or not any provision of sections 196.010 to196.120 is being violated.
