Costs apportioned against property.

204.656. The portion of the cost of any improvement to be assessed orimposed against the real property in a sanitary sewer improvement areashall be apportioned against such property in accordance with the benefitsaccruing by reason of such improvement. Subject to the provisions of thefarmland protection act, sections 262.800 to 262.810, RSMo, the cost may beassessed equally by lot or tract against property within the area, or byany other reasonable assessment plan determined by the governing body ofthe district that results in imposing substantially equal burdens or shareof the cost upon property similarly benefited. The governing body of thedistrict may from time to time determine and establish by resolutionreasonable general classifications and formula for the methods of assessingor determining the benefits.
