Annexation of territory to district--election--form of ballot.

206.130. 1. A petition for annexation of land to a hospitaldistrict shall be signed by not less than ten percent or fiftyvoters, whichever is fewer, residing within the territory thereindescribed proposed for annexation and shall be filed with thecounty clerk of the county in which the district or the greaterportion thereof is situated, and shall be addressed to thecommissioners of the county commission. A hearing shall be heldthereon as nearly as possible as in the case of a formationpetition. If upon the hearing, the commissioners of the countycommission find that the petition is in compliance with thischapter, they shall order the question to be submitted. Thequestion shall be submitted within the territory by the countycommission as is provided in section 206.060.

2. The question shall be submitted in substantially thefollowing form:

Shall ........ (description of territory) be annexed to the....... hospital district?

3. If a majority of the votes cast on the question in thedistrict and in the territory described in the petition,respectively, are in favor of annexation, the commissioners ofthe county commission shall by order declare the territoryannexed and shall describe the altered boundaries of thedistrict.
