JOBS program established, duties of department.

208.405. 1. No later than October 1, 1990, the division offamily services shall establish and operate a job opportunitiesand basic skills training (JOBS) program for AFDC recipients.

2. The division of family services, subject toappropriation, shall administer the job opportunities and basicskills training (JOBS) program as provided in Part F of Title IVof the Social Security Act.

3. Pursuant to Public Law 100-485, state funds expended foreducation, training and employment activities, includingsupportive services, to assist aid to families with dependentchildren recipients in becoming self-sufficient shall be no lessthan the level expended for such purposes in fiscal year 1986.

4. The department shall plan and coordinate all the JOBSprogram with the Missouri Job Training Coordinating Council,educational training and basic skills training and opportunitiesafforded under the provisions of this act* with the department ofelementary and secondary education, the department of labor andindustrial relations and the department of economic developmentso as not to duplicate any existing program and services nowoffered. The existing personnel in those departments togetherwith such added personnel as may be authorized by appropriationsshall be utilized in carrying out the provisions of this act*.
