Person relaying conversation not to disclose contents,exception--order to disclose--privilege.

209.263. 1. A person who interprets, transliterates orrelays a conversation between a person who can hear and a deafperson is deemed a conduit for the conversation and may notdisclose, or be compelled to disclose by subpoena, the contentsof the conversation which he facilitated without the priorconsent of the person who received his professional services,except as provided in subsection 2 of this section.

2. A court may order disclosure of the contents of aconversation to provide evidence in proceedings related tocriminal charges. However, all communications which areprivileged by law shall be protected as privileged communicationsin the same manner as communications when an auxiliary aids andservices provider or relay agent is used.
