Food and clothing of offenders--food deprivation not to be used aspunishment.

217.240. 1. The chief administrative officer of each correctionalcenter, with the approval of his division director, shall by rule andregulation designate the type of clothing to be worn by offenders.

2. All offenders confined in correctional centers shall be suppliedwith a sufficient quantity of wholesome food. Deprivation of food shallnot be used as a disciplinary action.

3. The chief administrative officer shall keep advised as to thequantity and quality of food and clothing furnished the offenders and as tothe health, condition and safekeeping of the offenders, and shall reportthose findings to his director.
