Enterprise program diversification and purpose.

217.560. The vocational enterprises program shall be diversified both asto location and kind and shall have for its purposes:

(1) The training and employment of offenders in such job skills andtasks as will afford them the most favorable opportunities practicable forgainful employment upon discharge from the department;

(2) The manufacture or provision, so far as practicable, of such goodsor services as are, or may be, needed and used by a department, agency, orinstitution of the state or any political subdivision of the state, any stateemployee, or any not-for-profit public or private agency;

(3) The servicing, maintenance, and repair, so far as practicable, ofmachinery and equipment used by any department, agency or institution of thestate or any political subdivision thereof.
