Terms of commission--vacancies, how filled--members to serve withoutcompensation, expenses to be paid.

217.903. The commissioners shall serve for terms of three years, exceptthat the first person appointed by each the mayor, the county commission andthe governor shall serve for two years and the second person appointed by thegovernor shall serve for four years. Each commissioner shall hold officeuntil a successor has been appointed and qualified. In the event a vacancyexists or in the event a commissioner's term expires, a successor commissionershall be appointed by whomever appointed the commissioner who initially heldthe vacant positions and if no person is so selected within sixty days of thecreation of the vacancy, the unexpired term of such commissioner may be filledby a majority vote of the remainder of the commissioners, provided suchsuccessor commissioner shall meet the requirements set forth by sections217.900 to 217.910. Pending any such appointment to fill any vacancy, theremaining commissioners may conduct commission business. Commissioners shallserve without compensation but shall be entitled to reimbursement from theMissouri state penitentiary redevelopment commission fund established insubsection 1 of section 217.910 for expenses incurred in conducting thecommission's business.
