226.440. The "Mississippi River Parkway Commission of theState of Missouri" is hereby established to aid in the promotionand securement of federal parks and a scenic parkway and highwayfor the state of Missouri along the Mississippi River. Thecommission shall work toward the planning, construction,maintenance, and improvement of the Great River Road andMississippi River Parkway which is to follow generally the courseof the Mississippi River and extend from Canada to the Gulf ofMexico.
