Inspection of dams and reservoirs, when--report on conditions.

236.420. The council, with the advice and assistance of thechief engineer, shall carry out a state program of inspection ofdams and reservoirs in accordance with regulations adopted by thecouncil. All dams and reservoirs in this state shall beinspected on a periodic basis to determine if they constitute athreat to public safety, life or property. The chief engineershall submit reports to the director and the council concerningthe condition of each dam or reservoir inspected, andrecommendations as to any alterations or repairs needed.
