Unpaid warrants to draw interest.

242.630. Any warrant issued under sections 242.010 to242.690 that is not paid when presented to the treasurer of theboard of supervisors of the district, because of lack of funds inthe treasury, such fact shall be endorsed on the back of suchwarrant, and such warrant shall draw interest thereafter at arate of not more than twelve percent per annum, until such timeas there is any money on hand to pay the amount of the warrantand the interest then accumulated, but no interest shall beallowed on warrants after such time when sufficient funds are inthe treasury to pay the endorsed warrants and interest.
