242.640. All surety bonds required to be given by sections242.010 to 242.690 shall be made payable to the district by itscorporate name, in which name all suits shall be instituted andprosecuted. All penalties herein named shall be payable to andrecoverable by said district. All bonds required by saidsections shall cover defaults of deputies, clerks or assistantsof the officers appointing them.
