Board to provide for compensation of employees and fees of officers.

245.170. The board of supervisors, except where otherwiseprovided, shall, by resolution, at time of hiring or appointing,provide for the compensation for work done and necessary expenseincurred by any officer, engineer, attorney or other employee andshall also pay the fees, per diem and necessary expenses of allcourt and county officers who may by virtue of sections 245.010to 245.280 render service to said district. It is understoodthat the ordinary fee statute does not apply to services renderedunder sections 245.010 to 245.280 by any county officer, but eachsuch officer shall receive only a reasonable compensation forservices actually rendered, the same to be fixed by the court inwhich the proceeding is pending, except where otherwise providedin sections 245.010 to 245.280; that said corporations orpetitioners for corporations may prepare, write or print allcopies of petitions, writs, orders and decrees or other papers,and furnish same to the clerk or other officer for his use, andin such event said officer shall be entitled to receive ascompensation for issuing the said writs and copies of petitions,decrees, orders or other papers, only the reasonable value of theservices actually rendered.
