Publicly owned sewer treatment works, responsible for whole sewersystem, when--exceptions.

249.1000. A publicly owned treatment works that has ownership ofinterceptor and local sewers shall be responsible for the entire publicsewer system, except that the operation and maintenance of any part of anindividual user's pressure sewer system, including grinder or low pressurepumps and service lateral to the public or private pressure sewer systemused for the purpose of collecting or conducting wastewater originating ata residence or individual commercial entity, shall be the responsibility ofthe owner of such residence or individual commercial entity unless thepublicly owned treatment works has assumed such responsibility.
