Septic systems to be maintained or pumped every five years--proofsubmitted--fee.

249.1155. After August 28, 2004, any county within a watershedimprovement district may require that all septic systems be maintained orpumped every five years by a licensed provider. In the event a countyrequires that all septic systems be so maintained or pumped the owner ofany septic system shall submit proof of maintenance or pumping to thecounty department of health or the state department of health and seniorservices if appropriate which shall determine what shall constitute proofof compliance with the requirement. In addition, the county department ofhealth or the state department of health and senior services if appropriatemay charge septic tank owners a reasonable fee for monitoring compliancewith the requirement.
