251.255. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 70.600, RSMo, tothe contrary, a regional planning commission shall be considered apolitical subdivision for the purposes of sections 70.600 to 70.755, RSMo,and employees of a regional planning commission shall be eligible formembership in the Missouri local government employees' retirement systemupon the regional planning commission becoming an "employer" as defined insubdivision (11) of section 70.600, RSMo.
