Sale of land authorized--procedure--committee established,qualifications, appointment, duties.

253.510. 1. At least one thousand five hundred thirty-twoacres of the total amount of five thousand one hundred twenty-twoacres accepted pursuant to the acceptance authorized bysubdivision (1) of section 253.500 shall be sold as provided inthis section. An additional two hundred acres may be sold ifsuch sale is approved by the committee established by theprovisions of subsection 2.

2. Title to those lands shall vest in the governor. All orportions of the one thousand seven hundred thirty-two acres shallbe sold upon the recommendation of a committee composed of onemember of the house of representatives, appointed by the speaker,one member of the senate, appointed by the president pro tem ofthe senate, and the governor or his representative. Specificauthorization is hereby given for the sale of such lands, and,the provisions of subsection 10 of section 37.005, RSMo, thecontrary notwithstanding, the governor, after recommendation bythe committee, may transfer title to such land without specificlegislative approval for each individual parcel sold. Any suchconveyance shall be signed by the governor, and the form of theinstrument of conveyance shall be approved by the attorneygeneral.
