Registry of abandoned or uncontrolled hazardous waste sites,contents--investigation--department's powers and duties.

260.440. 1. The department shall maintain and makeavailable for public inspection a registry of confirmedabandoned or uncontrolled hazardous waste disposal sites in thestate. The department shall take all necessary action to insurethat the registry provides a complete listing of all such sites.The registry shall contain the exact location of each site andidentify the types of waste found at each site.

2. The department shall investigate all known or suspectedabandoned or uncontrolled sites and determine whether each siteshould be included in the registry. In the evaluation of knownor suspected abandoned or uncontrolled sites, the departmentshall have the power to enter private property and perform testsand analyses in the manner provided in section 260.375.
