Definitions.

260.820. When used in sections 260.820 to 260.826, thefollowing words and phrases mean:

(1) "Package", a container providing a means of marketing,protecting or handling a product including a unit package, anintermediate package, a shipping container as defined in AmericanSociety for Testing Materials D996, tinplated steel as defined inAmerican Society for Testing Materials specification A-623, andunsealed receptacles including carrying cases, crates, cups,pails, rigid foil and other trays, wrappers and wrapping films,bags and tubs, when used for packaging purposes;

(2) "Packaging component", any individual assembled part ofa package, including without limitation, any interior or exteriorstrapping, bracing, cushioning, weatherproofing, coating,closure, label, dye, pigment, adhesive, stabilizer, or otheradditive, or ink. Tinplated steel that meets the AmericanSociety for Testing and Material specification A-623 shall beconsidered as a single package component.
