Appropriations, how disbursed.

262.440. Any appropriations made to or for the benefit ofany such circuit by the general assembly shall be made throughthe Missouri state department of agriculture and specified in thebiennial appropriations to said state department to be for suchpurpose, and when so made shall be by the director of agriculturepaid to the treasurer of said circuit in equal annualinstallments, and when so paid shall be by said circuit used insuch manner as may by said circuit be deemed best for thepromotion of the agricultural interests and the general interestin raising and breeding stock of all classes in the state ofMissouri; provided, that such appropriations shall be used onlyin payment for advertising, printing of catalogues, payments ofpremiums or purses for the general benefit of the whole circuit,or divided equally between the members of such circuit anddisbursed in same manner for the benefit of such member.
