Companies withdrawing from state liable for taxes imposed--departmentof revenue empowered to collect.

287.720. If any such insurance carrier shall withdraw frombusiness in this state before the tax shall fall due according tothe provisions of this chapter, or shall fail or neglect to paythe tax imposed herein, the department of revenue shall at onceproceed to collect the same, and it is hereby empowered andauthorized to employ such legal process as may be necessary forthat purpose and when so collected it* shall pay the same into thestate treasury as a part of the fund for the support of theMissouri workers' compensation division. The suit may be broughtby the department of revenue, in any court of this state havingjurisdiction, reasonable attorney's fees may be taxed as coststherein, and process may issue to any county of the state, andmay be served as in civil actions or in cases of unincorporatedassociations, partnerships, interindemnity contracts or otherplans or scheme upon the principal agent of the parties thereto.
