Deductions from wages, agreement to be written, approval of publicbody required.

290.315. All contractors and subcontractors required insections 290.210 to 290.340 to pay not less than the prevailingrate of wages shall make full payment of such wages in legaltender, without any deduction for food, sleeping accommodations,transportation, use of small tools, or any other thing of anykind or description. This section does not apply where theemployer and employee enter into an agreement in writing at thebeginning of said term of employment covering deductions forfood, sleeping accommodations, or other similar items, providedsuch agreement is submitted by the employer to the public bodyawarding the contract and the same is approved by such publicbody as fair and reasonable.
