Salaries and compensation of subordinate officials.

291.040. The salaries and compensation of the subordinateofficials and employees provided for in section 291.030, shall bepaid in like manner and from the same source as the salary of thedirector of the inspection section, upon vouchers approved by thedirector. The salaries and compensation shall be as follows:Assistant director of the inspection section, not exceeding sixthousand six hundred dollars per annum each; chief clerk, notexceeding six thousand six hundred dollars per annum;administrative secretary, not exceeding four thousand eighthundred dollars per annum; three special safety inspectors, notto exceed five thousand four hundred dollars per annum each;inspectors, not to exceed five thousand four hundred dollars perannum; secretary, not exceeding four thousand two hundred dollarsper annum; and stenographer, not to exceed four thousand twohundred dollars per annum, except that the two stenographers whoact as office managers in the two branches shall receive a salarynot to exceed four thousand five hundred dollars per annum;statistician, not to exceed six thousand six hundred dollars perannum. Such compensation shall be paid the janitor as is fixedby the director, not to exceed the sum of two hundred dollars permonth for the time employed.
