293.140. Any new escapement shaft constructed or opened foroperation after the effective date of this chapter, shall beequipped with a substantial hoist or stairway. Such stairwayshall be constructed at an angle not greater than forty-fivedegrees, and shall be provided with handrails and platform orlanding at each turn of stairway.
