Military service special license plates for motorcycles, application,fees.

301.4000. Any person who served in the active military service in abranch of the armed forces of the United States and was honorablydischarged from such service may apply for special motorcycle licenseplates, either solely or jointly, for issuance for any motorcycle subjectto the registration fees provided in section 301.055. Any such personshall make application for the special license plates on a form provided bythe director of revenue and furnish such proof of service and status as anhonorably discharged veteran as the director may require. Uponpresentation of the proof of eligibility and payment of a fifteen dollarfee in addition to the regulation registration fees, and presentation ofother documents which may be required by law, the director shall then issuelicense plates bearing letters or numbers or a combination thereof asdetermined by the director, with the words "U.S. VET" in place of the words"SHOW-ME STATE". The plates shall be clearly visible at night and shall beaesthetically attractive, as prescribed by section 301.130. There shall beno limit on the number of license plates any person qualified under thissection may obtain so long as each set of license plates issued under thissection is issued for vehicles owned solely or jointly by such person.License plates issued pursuant to this section shall not be transferable toany other person except that any registered co-owner of the motorcycle mayoperate the motorcycle for the duration of the year licensed in the eventof the death of the qualified person.
