Certificate of ownership for motor vehicles or trailers in names oftwo or more persons, presumptions--exceptions.

301.675. When the director of revenue issues a certificateof ownership for a motor vehicle or trailer in the names of twoor more persons, it shall be presumed that ownership of the motorvehicle or trailer is held by the persons shown on thecertificate as joint tenants with right of survivorship or astenants by the entirety if the owners are husband and wife,unless at the time the application for a certificate of ownershipis filed with the director of revenue, the application statesthat ownership of the motor vehicle or trailer is held as tenantsin common.
