Penalty for violation.

307.193. Any person seventeen years of age or older whoviolates any provision of sections 307.180 to 307.193 is guiltyof an infraction and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punishedby a fine of not less than five dollars nor more than twenty-fivedollars. Such an infraction does not constitute a crime andconviction shall not give rise to any disability or legaldisadvantage based on conviction of a criminal offense. If anyperson under seventeen years of age violates any provision ofsections 307.180 to 307.193 in the presence of a peace officerpossessing the duty and power of arrest for violation of thegeneral criminal laws of the state or for violation of ordinancesof counties or municipalities of the state, said officer mayimpound the bicycle or motorized bicycle involved for a periodnot to exceed five days upon issuance of a receipt to the childriding it or to its owner.
