Expiration of a license--board may establish by rule--renewal of alicense, when.

324.144. 1. The board may establish by administrative rule a systemwhich provides that licenses expire on various dates. A person may renewan unexpired license by submitting proof satisfactory to the board ofcompliance with the continuing professional education requirementsprescribed by the board and paying the required renewal fee to the boardbefore the expiration date of the license.

2. If a person's license has been expired for not more than twoyears, the person may renew the license by submitting proof, satisfactoryto the board, of compliance with the continuing professional educationrequirements prescribed by the board and any penalty fee prescribed by theboard.

3. If a person's license has been expired two years or more, theperson may not renew the license. The person may obtain a new license bysubmitting to reexamination and complying with the current requirements andprocedures for obtaining a license.

4. The board may renew without reexamination an expired license of aperson who was licensed in this state, moved to another state or states,and is currently appropriately licensed or certified and has been inpractice in another state or states for two years immediately preceding theperson's application to renew a license. The person shall be required topay the required fee as established by the board.

5. The board shall notify each license holder in writing of thelicense expiration date before the thirteenth day before such date bynotice to the license holder at the license holder's last known addressaccording* to the records of the board.
