Preemption clause.

324.272. 1. Except as provided in subsection 2 of this section,sections 324.240 to 324.275 shall preempt any rule, regulation or orderadopted by a political subdivision of the state relating to the licensingor regulation of massage therapists or massage businesses.

2. Sections 324.240 to 324.275 shall not affect:

(1) Local regulations relating to zoning requirements, local healthdepartment regulations, or occupational license taxes pertaining to massagetherapists or massage businesses; or

(2) Local regulations that do not relate to the practice of massagetherapy as performed by a Missouri state licensed massage therapist,including regulations of those professions who perform duties with alicensed massage therapist.
