Definitions.

324.600. For the purposes of sections 324.600 to 324.635, thefollowing terms mean:

(1) "Board", the board of licensed private fire investigatorexaminers;

(2) "Client", any person who engages the services of a private fireinvestigator;

(3) "Division", the division of fire safety within the department ofpublic safety;

(4) "Insurance adjuster", any person who receives any consideration,either directly or indirectly, for adjusting in the disposal of any claimunder or in connection with a policy of insurance or engaging in solicitinginsurance adjustment business;

(5) "License", a private fire investigator license;

(6) "Licensed private fire investigation", the furnishing of, makingof, or agreeing to make any investigation of a fire for the origin, cause,or responsibility of such fire;

(7) "Licensed private fire investigator", any person who receives anyconsideration, either directly or indirectly, for engaging in theinvestigation of the origin, cause, or responsibility of fires;

(8) "Licensed private fire investigator agency", a person or firmthat employs any person to engage in the investigation of fires todetermine the origin, cause, and responsibility of such fires;

(9) "Organization", a corporation, trust, estate, partnership,cooperation, or association;

(10) "Person", an individual;

(11) "Principal place of business", the place where the licenseemaintains a permanent office which may be a residence or business address.
