Applicant for license as professional engineer, qualifications.

327.221. Any person may apply to the board for examination andlicense as a professional engineer who is over the age of twenty-one, whois of good moral character, and who is a graduate of and holds a degree inengineering from an accredited school of engineering, or who possesses aneducation which includes at the minimum a baccalaureate degree inengineering, and which in the opinion of the board, equals or exceeds theeducation received by a graduate of an accredited school, and has acquiredat least four years of satisfactory engineering experience, after suchperson has graduated and has received a degree or education as provided inthis section; provided that the board shall by rule provide what shallconstitute satisfactory engineering experience based upon recognizededucation and training equivalents, but in any event such rule shallprovide that no more than one year of satisfactory postgraduate work inengineering subjects and that each year of satisfactory teaching ofengineering subjects accomplished after a person has graduated from and hasreceived a degree from an accredited school of engineering or afterreceiving an education as provided in this section shall count asequivalent years of satisfactory engineering experience.
