Removable dentures to be marked for identification, how marked--priorexisting unmarked dentures to be marked, when.

332.364. 1. On and after January 1, 1988, every complete upper andlower denture and removable dental prosthesis fabricated by a dentist, orfabricated pursuant to his or her prescription, shall be marked with the nameor Social Security number, or both, of the patient for whom the prosthesis isintended. The markings shall be made during fabrication and shall bepermanent, legible and cosmetically acceptable. The exact location of themarkings and the methods used to apply or implant them shall be determined bythe dentist or dental laboratory fabricating the prosthesis. If, in theprofessional judgment of the dentist, this full identification is notpossible, the name or Social security number may be omitted.

2. Any removable dental prosthesis in existence which was not marked inaccordance with subsection 1 of this section at the time of fabrication shallbe so marked at the time of any subsequent rebasing or duplication.
