340.300. 1. Any person desiring to be registered as a veterinarytechnician in the state of Missouri shall submit a written application tothe board. Such application shall be on forms furnished by the boardwithout charge.
2. Each application shall contain a statement that is made under oathor affirmation that representations made therein are true, correct andcontain no material omissions of fact to the best knowledge and belief ofthe person making the application and whose signature shall be subscribedthereto. Any person who knowingly submits false information, informationintended to mislead the board, or omits a material fact on the applicationshall be subject to penalties provided for by the laws of this state forgiving a false statement under oath or affirmation; such penalty is inaddition to and not in lieu of any action which the board takes pursuant tothe provisions of sections 340.200 to 340.330.
3. To qualify to be registered as a veterinary technician pursuant tothis section, the application must show that the applicant:
(1) Is at* least eighteen years of age;
(2) Is of good moral character;
(3) Has successfully completed a college level course of study inveterinary technology in a school having a curriculum approved by the boardor a college level course in the care and treatment of animals which isaccredited by the AVMA; and
(4) Has passed an examination or examinations as prescribed by boardrule. The examination or examinations shall be designed to test theexaminee's knowledge of, proficiency in, subjects and techniques commonlytaught in schools providing a curriculum in veterinary technology,familiarity with the requirements of sections 340.200 to 340.330, relatedstatutes and board rules, and other material as determined by the board.An examinee must demonstrate scientific, practical and legal knowledgesufficient to establish to the board that the applicant is competent topractice as a veterinary technician. Applications for examination shall bein writing, on a form furnished by the board and shall include evidencesatisfactory to the board that the applicant possesses the qualificationsset forth in subdivisions (1), (2) and (3) of this subsection.
4. The board may require additional information and proof of aperson's fitness and qualifications by board rule.
