Occupancy of property acquired by corporation by previousowners--conditions.

353.140. When title to real property has been vested in anurban redevelopment corporation by gift, grant, devise, purchase,or by condemnation proceedings or otherwise, the urbanredevelopment corporation may agree with the previous owners ofsuch property, or any tenants continuing to occupy or use it, orany other persons who may occupy or use or seek to occupy or usesuch property, that such former owner, tenant or other personsmay occupy or use such property upon the payment of a fixed sumof money for a definite term or upon the payment periodically ofan agreed sum of money. Such occupation or use shall not beconstrued as a tenancy from month to month, nor require thegiving of notice by the urban redevelopment corporation for thetermination of such occupation or use or the right to suchoccupation or use, but immediately upon the expiration of theterm for which payment has been made the urban redevelopmentcorporation shall be entitled to possession of the real propertyand may maintain an action for either unlawful detainer orejectment for the purpose of recovering immediate possessionthereof.
