Definitions.

374.450. Unless otherwise clearly indicated by the context, thefollowing words and terms as used in sections 374.450 and 374.455 shall mean:

(1) "Director", the director of the department of insurance, financialinstitutions and professional registration;

(2) "Insurer", any insurance company, reciprocal or inter-insuranceexchange, licensed and authorized by the director to write automobileinsurance within this state;

(3) "Private automobile insurance", a policy of insurance coveringprivate passenger nonfleet vehicles owned by an individual or by a husband andwife and providing any one or more perils of protection against bodily injuryliability, property damage liability, medical payments, uninsured motorist,comprehensive, collision, or other insurance coverage incidental to theoperation of the vehicle.
