Study on licensure and policies of bail bond industry, hearings,report.

374.776. During the legislative interim between the first regularsession and the second regular session of the ninety-fifth generalassembly, the Missouri department of insurance, financial institutions andprofessional registration shall conduct a study regarding its licensingrules and other policies and procedures governing the bail bond industrywithin the state of Missouri. The department, in its discretion, may holdpublic hearings within the state and permit testimony and input from suretyinsurance companies, general bail bond agents, bail bond agents,legislators, law enforcement agencies, officials from the department, andother interested parties. If public hearings are held, the director shallprovide notice to all licensees licensed under sections 374.695 to 374.789of the date, time, and location of such public hearings. The departmentshall submit a report of its findings and recommendations to the house ofrepresentatives and senate insurance committees no later than January 6,2010.
