Who may hold policies.

379.240. 1. Any public or private corporation, board orassociation in this state or elsewhere may make applications,enter into agreements for and hold policies in any such mutualinsurance company.

2. Any officer, stockholder, trustee or legal representativeof any such corporation, board, association or estate may berecognized as acting for or on its behalf for the purpose of suchmembership, but shall not be personally liable upon such contractof insurance by reason of acting in such representative capacity.

3. The right of any corporation organized under the laws ofthis state to participate as a member of any such mutualinsurance company is hereby declared to be incidental to thepurpose for which such corporation is organized and as muchgranted as the rights and powers expressly conferred.
