392.540. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary,the public service commission shall promulgate rules which shall beeffective by January 1, 1999, for the submission or execution of changes bya telecommunications company to a subscriber's selected provider of basicinterexchange or basic local telecommunications services, and requiringverification by customers to telecommunication companies for any changes insuch customer's telecommunication service. Any rule promulgated shall beconsistent with rules prescribed by the Federal Communications Commissionpursuant to 47 U.S.C. Section 258(a).
