Negotiation.

400.3-201. (a) "Negotiation" means a transfer ofpossession, whether voluntary or involuntary, of an instrument bya person other than the issuer to a person who thereby becomesits holder.

(b) Except for negotiation by a remitter, if an instrumentis payable to an identified person, negotiation requires transferof possession of the instrument and its endorsement by theholder. If an instrument is payable to bearer, it may benegotiated by transfer of possession alone.
