Tank wagons, wholesale or retail sales to be equipped withmeters--inspection, when--condemned meters, how marked.

414.073. 1. Each tank wagon used in the wholesale or retailmarketing of gasoline, gasoline-alcohol blend, kerosene, heatingoil, diesel fuel, and aviation turbine fuel shall be equippedwith meters or other measuring devices for the measurement of theproduct in terms of gallons or liters and shall not be equippedwith a bypass around such meters.

2. The director shall at least once each year test themeasuring devices on tank wagons used in the retail or wholesaledelivery of motor fuel, aviation turbine fuel, heating oil,diesel fuel, gasoline, gasoline-alcohol blend, or kerosene. Whensuch devices are found to be inaccurate, he shall order thecorrection, removal or discontinuance of same.

3. Test procedures, specifications, tolerances, andtechnical requirements shall be governed by the National Bureauof Standards, Handbook 44, and supplements thereto.

4. The director shall condemn all meters which do not meetthe requirements contained in National Bureau of StandardsHandbook 44, vehicle tank meter section, or its successorpublication.

5. No meter which has been condemned shall be used forcommercial purposes. All condemned meters shall be conspicuouslymarked "inaccurate".
